Most Common Signs of Rodent Infestation

The most important advice we can provide when dealing with any type of infestation is to never ignore the warning signs and to act immediately.  Our trained technicians can handle all of your rodent eradication needs and create a custom treatment plan to prevent any issues in the future.

Most Common Signs of Rodent Infestation

1. Droppings

The most common sign of a mouse infestation are small droppings about the size of a grain of rice.  These droppings are most often found around food or near their nest.  Our team can use the presence of droppings to help identify the type of rodent as well location and size of the infestation.

2. Gnaw Marks

Mice are known to chew on anything including wood, drywall, food packaging and even wiring if they’ve gotten into your walls.  This is especially dangerous because they could cause sparks that lead to a house fire.

3. Urine Odor

Rodent urine has a strong musky odor with the scent continuing to grow stronger as the infestation grows.

4. Unusual Tears or Holes in Fabric or Other Materials

Rodents will shred a variety of materials including fabric, insulation, paper, and other pliable materials in order to build their nests.  If you begin finding holes and tears without explanation this could be a sign that rodents are nesting in your home.

5. Holes Throughout Your Home

Rodents will gnaw holes throughout your home in order to gain access to different areas of your house and to create nests.  This can include your walls, floors, cabinets and furniture.

5. Strange Pet Behavior

Our pets will usually notice the presence of rodents in our homes well before we do.  If you see your cat or dog paces, paws and barks at specific areas in your house repeatedly this could be a sign of a rodent infestation.
